Does stronghold crusader hd (2002) have/support CO-OP?

Hello,
The game is 2euro on steam right now and me and my friend want to play the two of us against AI.
It an old game and Im not sure if supports co-op like the newest game- crusader 2?

It likely uses direct IP connections (you or your friend have to know your public IP address, which you can find by googling)
And it's competitive multiplayer, you each build a town with walls and soldiers and try to kill the other.

It says just multiplayer but what kind of multiplayer? And can somebody tell me from experience. As long as i remember it uses gamespy which shat down long ago, however This game is on the list of the "unaffected".. so what kind of service does it use and does it even have multiplayer??
