Hey guys! I currently running a AMD FX-8320 with factory fan a AsusM5A99FX Pro R.20 and a MSI Radeon R9 280.. I thinking about upgrading all but going to be over the year and hoping to keep all them within $1,000 total.. I currently playing Arma 3 Exile but was wondering what would be a good goal of parts to get for my upgrade being im not a tech guy.. i have a 850w, 8gb ddr3 1886 ram, and a coolmaster elite case.. Thanks for your time and help!

Kind of an odd statement, wait for the unknown and forget now? Completely backwards or we'd all be waiting forever.

A gtx 970 would be significantly cheaper...
If you want to keep it within 1000$ for the total upgrade, then you won't get something that much greater, compared to your current rig. If you are willing to spend more then you can upgrade the GPU first and the CPU later, but personally I would use this PC for the next 2 years since it is still quite powerful.

So upgrading to an I7 4790k or a I7 5820k and a like a Geforce GTX 980 wouldnt be the best idea right now? Only reason im upgrading is bc im only getting abt 14-30 fps at the moment on high in Arma 3 exile and others seem to be getting 60fps or so on Ultra..

Oh ok yea i seen i could get a MSI GTX 980 for $479.99 and a Intel I7-4790k for $339.99 but of course it would cost a hire more then $180 for a motherboard so yea i could go above $1,000 if needed but trying roughly to stay near that if possible.. if i was to wait a yr or 2 indeed what would be the upgraded you prefer?

A gtx 970 would be significantly cheaper, better than the current gpu and prefectly fine for 1080p. With the cost of a 980 I might suggest adding a little and getting a 980ti if 1440p is something being considered. I'd bet money that for the $1000 the above build will outperform zen and it's available now, not end of the year.

Zen could be an improvement or another bulldozer. We've seen the hype before and hype doesn't get stuff done.
