just moved my build to a new case, corsair 450D, and have just turned it on, and the brand new stock fans with the case are making a horrible sqeaky scratchy sound and wont even spin up on startup i need to spin them with my fingers. i have disabled any bios fan control/asus fanxpert and its worse at 100%, silent mode one of the 140mm stops but at all speeds they all seem to make a noise

i do not understand this, it shouldn't be a problem with my mobo or psu as it was running 6 fans in my last case without trouble

what should i do? this sound is annoying the hell out of me

You can't put grease on the fans, the other guy is trolling you. What it sounds like is just that the fans are not receiving the correct amount of voltage.

Sounds like the case fan blades are catching on something. Remove them from the case and inspect them closely checking if they are catching on the power cable or the housing or something else? If they aren't catching at all then the bearings are knackered and you should really replace them. Get in touch with the case manufacturer or where you got the case from.

checked all the fans there is nothing catching. the fans are brand new with the case, should they need really need oil? and it is all 3 fans...
maybe one header is shorting, i will test each one now...

EDIT: turns out one of the headers was dodgy and affecting all of them, when i pulled it out with the other 2 running, they all worked fine, so i put the fan in into the cpu fan's splitter

funny, with a 4 pin pwm fan in the last case it was ok, just the 3 pin in there was no good
