Help, possible gpu upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my gpu to be able to play Xcom 2. Min gpu requirement is gtx 460 or better. The most readily available is gtx 750 for about 132.00. My mother board is MA 785 R. Will it support a gtx 750?

What CPU do you have?

That motherboard model doesnt seem to exist.

My cpu is an AMD athlon II 2.9 GH. The current gpu is a 8800 GT 512

Yeah in theory the gtx 750 should work just fine replacing your 8800GT. I doubt anyone has tried on a old system like that, but theres a good chance it will work.

wouldnt really be worth it your cpu will bottleneck your gpu and you wont get good performance anyhow i would just get a whole new system if you want to play newer games.

Thank you for your help. Do you think a 950 would work? It's a big ass card, but the tower seems to have plenty of room. I have a 600w PSU

He forgot the 4, it should be M4A785 for the motherboard.

It will run a 750Ti fine.

950 may work also, but honestly just go for the 750, you cpu would hold back the 950 massively.

Thank you everyone for you help. I found a gtx 650 I on CL for 60.00. Put it in and it works. I have to set the graphics at a medium setting, but it still looks great.
