Hello Guys and Girls !

Am looking on getting a new cooler but unsure what to Get ! My Rig consist of an i5 4690k which i will be looking to OC to around 4.5 . At the moment I'm using an H100 and it's nearly 3 years old " Time to upgrade " the issue is I want to get EK-KIT X360 but my pockets are a bit light for now so it's going to be a choice between H100i GTX or X61 ... Dose anyone have either or have used them ? could really do with some help !

Thanks

Jimmy

Look at the review I posted. Even in performance mode (12v) the Kraken x61 and H100i GTX have the same sound pressure levels.

That's only in "performance mode" and even then it's not by much. The Kraken X61 is significantly quieter than the H100i. Corsair did people a disservice with the fans. You'd have to buy their Silent Series SP fans to reduce noise. That adds to the cost.

SilentPCReview has the Kraken as the only model on their recommended list of quiet AIO coolers, last time I looked.

Add to that that I've really not liked building with a Corsair Hxx some time back, I thought since everyone uses them they have to be good. I since switched back to my standby choices of the Intel AIO cooler or the NZXT Kraken.

The older H100 might have had louder but a lot of them are very close in performance, with the H100i GTX being slightly better at cooling.

As for installation, they are all the same. Mount the fans and radiator to a chassis, install the backplate and CPU block and you are done.
