I want a good and STABLE wireless adapter (unlike this netgear n900 bullshit) that can handle up to 300+ mbps speeds for gaming. Can pretty much afford anything within reason but I need it quickly, my motherboard is a asus z97 pro4 and only has the gpu slot used as far as pcie, meaning there are 3 slots available still. This is relatively urgent considering both my job and entertainment revolve around this. Hard wired is NOT an option. Thanks.

I have a laptop and it has perfectly normal connection, I have tested the outgoing connection from the wall via the direct coaxial line, swapped out routers to one that is guaranteed to work and hardwired works as it should meaning the adapter is a piece of shit.

I'm leaning towards the asus pce adapter with antenna you mentioned but want to see if I can get any more ideas and imput regarding the matter.

I tried two different PCIe wireless adapters in my gaming build - the TPLINK and the ASUS above. Both caused big issues for my GTX970 video cards (not booting properly, games crashing, etc.). Put my old N900 in and all problems went away. Still trying to figure out why. Planning to just drop Ethernet in my office so I can hard wire.

Signal wise both worked well. I did like the asus setup better for positioning - but router is close by.
