Hi Guys,

I work in an office and we all use IMac's and I have been tasked with looking into finding out will upgrading to the more recent El capitan OS X be worth wile and improve performance on some of the older Mac's

As it stands we are using 3 IMac's on a day to day basis, the rest are macbook air's

The Oldest of the IMac's is 2012 and running Lion 10.7.2 but It's having slowness issues and I have run everything from CCLeaner to verify permissions and repairing the issues, But no change as of yet.

I would thing it would be easier if all the systems are on the same OS X.

So Would it be worth the Free Upgrade?

Thanks!

El Capitan is certainly more stable and secure than previous builds...
But it's annoyingly slow to boot (3~4 times longer than Lion), the default (San Francisco) font is (IMHO) harder to read on a non-retina display, the Icons look like they were designed by Barbie and can be annoying at first, older printer drivers (that use CUPS) often no-longer work, Disk Utilities have been dumbed-down so much you can no-longer manage (Apple) RAID arrays without using complex command line instructions (or buying a 3rd party tool)... and the name... who in their right mind would name an OS after the Leader of a Mexican Drug Cartel ;-)

If none of that affects what you do and all the Apps you use will run on El Capp (worth checking first, not all do!), then go for it.
