I am a student so $$ is tight. I have a bit of money to upgrade and I am trying to decide the best way to spend my money I have 2 options:

1. Buy new monitor + SSD ( asus 27 inch gtg 180$ + 250gb SSD ~120$)

2. Buy gtx 970 ~330$

system:
Dell 2407WFP
i5 6500 skylake
16gb ddr4 ram
750 psu
GIGABYTE GA-Z170XP-SLI
gtx 660 TI
1tb 6k rpm

I only play fallout 4 and bf4 and I am satisfied. My question is will a newer monitor make a huge difference (my current size is fine but am I loosing out on a better picture)? This is the last bit of money ill have for computer for 2 years. I would get everything but I need to stay under 400 or so.

usability for school or better graphics? hmmmm. advice

Your monitor is already 1920x1200, so upgrading from a 24'' to a 27'' and staying at 1080p isn't worth it. The GTX970 and the SSD are both good options for your computer, but I think the GTX970 would be the best addition to your system, mostly with an I5 6500.
