Dayz Standalone is limited to the CPU a whole bunch, I have a low end CPU, the A10-5800k. With the settings I'm using at the moment, my average frame rate is probably under 25.

I'm using the ASRock FM2A55m-DGS. I've heard that overclocking can really improve things in the current state of the game. Is anyone in the same kind of postion? If not, can someone give me some insight weather or not it's a good idea to overclock my CPU (It's pretty old(not sure if age matters))

The GPU I'm using is the 7850k
Also, what kind of CPU+MOBO combos would you recommend? I'm thinking of this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2692973

But it'll probably be obsolete by the time I can pay for it haha.

Thank you if you so choose to help me!

Overclocking can certainly help improve performances, but I wouldn't recommend overclocking if you're using the stock AMD cooler. I think an I7 is overkill if you're going to be gaming, and that's even more true with an HD7850 as the dedicated GPU. I must also warn you that this mobo is compatible with DDR4 ram only, so you'll have to buy new memory as well. I think you'd be better off with something like this :

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($174.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($61.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $236.87

You can then start saving for a better GPU, because the one you have is getting old.

Adding to what SkyMembrane said, you also need to make sure you have a NON OEM windows license, Overclocking wont help at this point because that cpu is so old. If you want future proof then get a i5/i5 6xxx (k if you want to OC) with a lga 1151 socket motherboard and 8gb of ddr4 ram, that would massively improve your fps

With Windows 10, the Windows OEM license is no longer bound to the motherboard, so if he has the installation disk, he can reinstall it without any issues. There are some versions of Windows where the OEM is motherboard bound, so it's a good idea to check.

Thanks a lot!! I'll start putting aside some cash for all this, my friend said he got a new proccessor and could sell it to me(plus a motherboard) for like a hundred dollars, it's an i7, but I'm not sure of anything specific. As for the ram, this option may be a little expensive for me at the moment, thanks for your insight though! It has been considered.
