I'm looking at these two motherboards

ASRock Z170 Extreme4

and

ASRock Z170 Gaming K6

They are both within my price range and was looking for something that could run in SLI even if it is just 8x and 8x but still run an M.2 SSD. I saw these boards have the Ultra M.2 and was wondering if I used this ability and had a GPU in one slot if it would take up lanes and knock it down to 8x and use 4x on the ultra m.2 or if the ultra m.2 used pcie lanes that were already allocated by the motherboard and would leave the gpu unaffected.

Solution
OK, so they have stripped the USB 3.1 adaptor off. I did not realize that model was out. Now I know better.

What I said above about the M.2 stands for the K6.
There is no K6, I think, do you mean K6+, and if you do, do you also mean Extreme 4+ or plain Extreme 4?

The K6+ maps its 4x PCI-e lanes for the M.2 onto the SATA ports, so you lose SATA 0 and SATA 1 when the M.2 is used. 16 lanes are still available as 1 x16 or 2 x8 for SLI or x8 and 2 x4 for three way Crossfire.
