Hello

I need some help on a graphics card problem. I recently bought a MSI Radeon r9 380, replacing my EVGA Nvidia GTX 650. The problem is when I put in my new video card, the whole computer boots up, lights and fans, everything, but the monitor stays sleeping. I promise you that i put BOTH the power slots in, and the required drivers (Maybe i had to install them in a certain order?). I even replaced it and tried again, but the same thing is happening. Please help however you can. My specs are here:

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: Intel Corporation DP67DE (LGA1155)
Power Supply: CORSAIR TX750 750W Power Supply
Graphics Card: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (EVGA)

EDIT: Accidentally copied Video card into Motherboard.

I once had a problem exactly like yours. A few years ago I upgraded my 8800GTS-512MB to the new HD6850 and it just refused to work. Nothing I did worked... Updated the BIOS and even tried three different 6850 cards sent to me by XFX.

I eventually found out what the problem was. My motherboard was an ASUS brand that had an NVidia chipset in it... It worked great with NVidia cards but when I upgraded to an AMD card... that motherboard simply refused to place nicely with it. I did some research and found out that older NVidia motherboards don't work too well with newer AMD cards at all... for some reason.

Ah, i see. So that means it's most likely a Nvidia chipset. How do i check it?

Not sure... I found out by using three different cards... and each one had the same problem. Try searching for your motherboard on Google... just type.... <motherboard make/model> problems with AMD Cards ... . and see if anyone else is having similar problems with AMD Cards with that motherboard.

My problem couldn't be resolved.... I just went back to my previous card until I had enough to just build me a completely new system. I couldn't return my card because I had already filled out the Rebate form and cut out the UPC...
