Hi all,

I am upgrading my graphic card, and want some suggestions. My need will be gaming like world of tank, cs, and I have two monitors. I am a little worried about my cpu, and hope the price can be within $200. Following is my configurations:

cpu-fx8320
psu-Corsair RM750
mobo-asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0
RAM-gskill 2x4g 1866

I am thinking about gtx 960, r9 280. Any suggestion would be appreciated !!! Thank you !!!

have you looked at any of your games forums and what not to see whats said ?? [for example? ]

maybe theses game are more CPU bound the GPU ?? a better card for them may not be a big factor over a cpu or what your cpu can do ??

why I say look at user forums on the games and see whats up??

I am sorry, I dont quite get your point. Are you saying I should change my cpu to intel?

no as you can see weather you got the amd chip or the intel chip with a higher end card in sli there little difference and all work well ,no performance issues

so your 8320 should handle any of the cards you listed above .. heck man it should do a gtx 980 with ease so a 960 or that 280 is light work for it

your cpu should not be affected in any way with those 2 cards and should work well

Thank you, any other suggestion beside these two??
also, which performs better 960 or 280?

that's right theres give and take on both sides of it .. depending on if the program/games are cpu bound or gpu bound -- I think you will be fine . you may try to get a little more cash and try for a 970 and get that extra bump or a 380 ?/

got to shoot for your best balance

heck I would run the 960 or that 280 on my old FX6100

look this over ??

What games and what monitor do you have? Thats the questions that need to ask yourself. If I was you Id try my hardest to grab a GTX 970 I think its probably one of the best value cards on the market I know its a touch out of budget but it really does offer fabulous value for money on the gpu side of things right now. Maybe look second hand to save a few pennys keep your eyes out for one still in warranty and you should be be pretty well covered

i got you. Thank you !!
For my need, do you think 970 would be a waste (I mean I may not use quite a lot of it).

well thasts up to you and what ''you'' feel fits your needs and best for you I'm sure any of the cards will do fine one way or another - I'm still running a older 7850 ?? ya, I would like a fresh card but its really giving me no good reason to do so ?

only you know what your needs are for your use and what you intend to do - thing is you could buy the better /a little overkill card today and move it up tomorrow on a newer or better build as well??

you know what your needs are and all we do is help make a suggestion or show some options to conceder. your the one who clicks add to cart in the end

sure, thanks junkeymonkey.
970 is pretty expensive, I am wondering a 960 level card is good for game like world of tank, cs?? if 960 is good for these, I do not need to go up to 970 for now.

well look at some benchmark reviews with the 960 and some of the AMD cards like the 380 or 380x as well ?? may find a better deal on one of them

look over reviews that list all the cards your interested in

if you go with the gtx 960 invest in the 4gb card over the 2gb [opinion]

all you can do is the best you can just like everyone else .. maybe a r9-380 will do just as good ? they look close in reviews ? then its down to there price point ?
