Ive had it for 1 year no problems

Specs: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms
CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3
Antec Twelve Hundred V3 Black Steel ATX Full Tower Unbeatable Gaming Case
CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3

My computer reboots (no warning just immediately) while I play games and only when I play games (I have tested multiple games). The two games I have tested are Counter strike global offensive and Far Cry 4, took about 45 minutes of playing in Far Cry 4 and CSGO is a bit more complicated, smokes seem to speed up the reboot but other than that its pretty random, could happen in 20 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, toward the start of a match, toward the end of a match. (when i tested the reboot for temps the most effective seemed to be when i threw tons of smokes, I could get it to reboot in 5 minutes). I'm on the computer a lot basically all day and it can be on all day and no reboot if Im not playing games.

I have cleaned my pc, updated all drivers, turned on an extra fan, checked event viewer for an error (no errors around the time of reboots or at least no consistent error), ran virus scans, checked the bios for overheating information (nothing there), and I can't seem to find an issue. I monitored temps while playing and cpu was around 35-67 degrees, gpu at 50-75 degrees alone with gpu usage at 100% and power at 101%.

My dad is a tech and has fixed every computer problem I have ever had with ease but can't seem to find the problem here, he cant test things because it doesn't happen often enough. At this point he thinks its hardware (maybe psu?). So basically I'm desperate for help, would really like to diagnose this and get it fixed.
I ran a 95prime stress test recently and it was fine 0 errors or warnings, cpu temp got up to 90 degrees.

Thanks in advance

Has your dad tried turning off automatic restarts to see if there's a BSOD he can read?

It sounds like it could be a faulty GPU, if it only happens when playing 3d games, though you could give some GPU benchmark software a try like 3DMark.

It could be the PSU/related issue as well: http://www.overclock.net/t/1490240/issues-with-corsair-ax1200i/10#post_24857656

Could be drivers, give this a try first, as it's fairly easy fix if it is:

If you have graphics or driver issues, one of the most common fixes is a clean uninstall and removal of your graphics drivers.

To uninstall your drivers, first download and run Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow it's recommendations of booting into safe mode and ect.
(This is a direct download link so you don't grab the wrong version)
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

You'll download a compressed file called "[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip"
Right click and choose extract.
Go into the folder and run the DDU v##.##.exe
This will extract more files to this folder.
Run Display Driver Uninstaller.exe
Choose Yes when it asks you to boot into SafeMode.
After you've rebooted into safe mode.
When DDU comes up, if it hasn't selected your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) then choose it from the drop down list
Press the Clean and Restart option
If a window comes up asking to disable the Windows automatic installation of display drivers click yes.

After (or before removing the old drivers, just put the new ones on the desktop or somewhere handy) rebooting back into Windows, manually download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD, don't use auto detect, choose you GPU model and OS from the drop down lists.

Thanks for the detailed reply, Ill try the graphics and drivers first and then give the benchmark a try (my brother suggested that as well, i did cpu but not gpu). Ill get back to you!

Alright I uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers like you said, still rebooting. I downloaded the 3DMark 11 demo from steam and did a benchmark test, here are the results http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/10923361 , did not reboot during that test.

I also just turned of automatic restart, it still automatically restarts after it shuts down.

No blue screen of death comes up?

If nothing comes up, that makes me think it's a power/PSU problem.

The reason it takes kind of a random amount of time is because of power draw.

But the HX series is actually fairly good quality... But the doesn't mean you couldn't have gotten a bad one.

Mmm, but still it's kinda unclear. Try downloading the latest 3dmark release, which is just called 3DMark now:
http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/3dmark#windows (choose the basic edition)
and run the Firestrike benchmark, that should be more demanding than 3dMark 11.

If you have another 550-600W+ PSU around maybe try swapping it out with your current one and seeing if it happens.

You know what there is that error when it crashes, the times my dad and I look at event viewer we were looking at applications and not system. Seems that is the case every time.
