Is The Price Too Much?

Someone is selling a used PC for $600. Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4170 quad-core processor 4.2ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
RAM: 8gb DDR3
Mother Board: Asus m5a97 r2.0
PSU: EVGA 600 B1 80+ BRONZE, 600W

Is that too much for the PC, or how much is the PC worth.

do you have any more specs like storage, case, dvd drive, did they buy an os?

if you are only talking about those parts, you could probably buy that pc, or, one with similar, newer parts for much less than $600. i'd pay maybe $200 or less for only the parts you posted. they are old and probably have a ton of ware. sounds like a bad deal. also, that processor is bare minimum for a gaming system. you have no upgrade path. you have no warranties.

I just tossed some parts together to make something similar. I have chosen a faster CPU and GPU with Win10 for under $500

It has Windows 7 Professional and a DVD+R DL and a Ibuypower paladin e370 case

Still not worth anywhere near $600. Even if it had a nice ssd and new hard drive, I still wouldn't pay $400 for it.

For what you listed $600 is way too much when you can buy new components that will perform the same for so much less. If on the other hand it has a decent case, decent SSD, monitor, and a windows 7 disk to do a re-install then I might feel a little different with the value at $500 max. You do have an upgrade path as far as getting an FX 8000 series CPU and adding more RAM. That board takes up to 32GB by the way. The PSU should also be enough for most single GPU cards when the time cones to replace that 580.
