Hi,

I ordered a PowerTech USB 3.0 to HDMI cable so that I can run multiple monitors on my laptop, I already have a monitor connected with HDMI.

My problem is that the cable arrived without any drivers, I did contact the shop, but no luck as I am in a foreign country on a remote island. So when I plug the device in windows does not recognize the device and fails with a USB Video Device message. I have tried removing all USB drivers and doing an update, but no luck.

I am using Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine.

Is there a generic driver that I can install to make the device work? I searched the web and PowerTech are a bit of an unknown company.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Paul.

Thank you for a prompt reply, I tried installing the displayLink driver:

DisplayLink_7.4_M2

It installed ok, I rebooted the machine and still no drivers picked up. Are there any additional steps i should take or should I install a different version for windows 7?

I just tried M4 version also, no luck.

hello anybody out there,

I managed to find a driver which got it to work, it is from Fesco Logic, my O/S recognised the USB 3.0 to HDMI device and I now have 3 monitors.

Now I have another problem, every-time I open Google Chrome or other garphic intensive application, the USB- HDMI monitor goes blank for a few seconds. Is this because I have the incorrect driver or is it because my graphics card an Intel HD 4000 is not powerful enough.

Would I be better off ordering a high quality adapter from UK with the correct drivers.

Thank you.

Paul.
