Monitor DVI Port or GPU Stopped working

Left for a few hours and came home to a message stating that the DVI is in power save mode or something along those lines. I have a Radeon HD 7750 Low Profile GPU and use a standard DVI cable. I can use my PC if I remove the GPU and use a VGA cable to connect to the VGA port on the same monitor. Looking for any help on resolving the problem and really hoping I don't need to replace my GPU. Also if I keep the DVI plugged into the monitor but unplug it from my GPU the message goes away and the screen just stays black.

Not that I have the ability to test. It has a micro port, but it has never worked for me (Nor have I ever been able to use an HDMI via the micro or a DVI to HDMI adapter) I also don't have any other monitor with a DVI port.

I plan on doing that ASAP.

Another thing I forgot to mention: when I switched to my integrated GPU and was able to login I got a popup saying that Windows finished installing some updates. Could this have anything to do with my problem?

Tried a system recovery which put my PC back to the state it was in on Feb 5th and there was no change in behavior. Haven't been able to try a different monitor yet.

When I tried my GPU I did hear the GPUs fan kick on, so hopefully that means the GPU is still working.

Fairly certain now that it is in fact the monitor port that is malfunctioning and not my GPU. I am using a broken DVI to VGA adapter that makes my picture a headache inducing green, but goes to show that my GPU is still sending a signal out.

On that note I have absolutely no idea what could have made my DVI port stop working. It still detects the DVI cable being plugged in because when no DVI or VGA cord is plugged in there is a message that floats around the screen saying 'searching for signal' and when the DVI gets plugged in it says 'DVI Power Save Mode Enabled'
