I am looking at doing my first build on my wifes beginners photo editing machine, she is just starting out with weddings. I have searched the forums and they seems to be a lot of conflicting views if photoshop will run off a i5 processor and a descent mobo without graphics card
Can anyone recommend a build around £500 without os, keyboard and mouse with an extra £200 for a monitor.
I am looking on the lines
1. i5 processor
2. not sure on motherboard but would like to run two monitors over time
3. not sure on cpu cooling
4.1no ssd drive for os and photoshop
5. 1 no 1tb secondary drive
6. 8gb+ of ram
7. case etc not too bothered
I would like to be able to expand on this over time if possible
to be honest I have fried my brain reading through numerous posts and reviews and really need help with the build

Solution
if your budget is strictly limited to £700, just leave off the SSD since it is an upgrade that can be performed later. i would (i did) go with an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ration. at 29" it is about the same height as a 24" monitor, but much wider allowing more area to multitask... or watch certain movies with no black bars :D

a bit too pricey at the moment I am trying to do this on a budget of £500 nub. jasper not that bothered about a mini case, with it being a first build wanted a bit of room to play with and for expansion.
what about monitor wise am I going to be able to pick something up for around £200 that will do the job until she starts bringing in some money to upgrade to 2 monitors

everything is high quality, and well suited for the tasks. you can upgrade with more RAM or storage drives, add a GPU to help with very large projects, better CPU, etc.
