Whats better for gaming? I7 6700k v i5 6600k

Hi, I'm just about to start building a PC and stuck between getting the i5 6600k or the i7 6700 that is £100 pound more give or take, the build I have in mind is solely for gaming and not much else, so I'm looking for opinions on if the i7 is worth the extra 100 or if I should go with the i5?

Definitely not, for just gaming even the i5-6500 would be more than enough, however I suggest sticking to the 6600k with z170 board and aftermarket cooler so that you can overclock in the future.

Thanks for the replies, I am hoping to pair this up with one or 2 gtx 980s but just found out that the new pascal GPUs are supposedly rolling out this year so might wait and see what that brings

If you want to play everything on ultra on 4k for next 5 years? Then go with 6700k.
I got 6600k it is beast, no game can force it to go over 50% with decent overclock!
Just make sure you get Z170 motherboard, no less!

I agree with this post.
If you can afford the i7-6700k then get it. There seems to be more and more games becoming CPU intensive, and this is only going to increase over then next few years.
