I built the first versions of my pc on partpicker.com, then i looked at amazon and most parts were much cheaper, but they dont tell you if item are compatible, so

1) are all these parts compatible
2) is this a good low-mid range GAMING PC
3) is this a good price for the parts (i live in australia btw)

Intel Core i5-4590 $199
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $30
MSI H97 Gaming 3 $172
Kingston HyperX 16GB Kit 1600MHz $73
Seagate 3TB HDD SATA 6Gb/s $88
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB $190
Deepcool Tesseract SW Mid Tower Case $55
Rosewill VALENS-500M 80+ Gold $64
Windows 10 Home 32/64 OEM $38
Shipping $104
Total $1013

It's a good build. it is compatible. However some remarks:
1)Why $100 shipping? Are they bringing it with a rowboat from the USA?
2)Why a NAS - this is a networking hard drive, do you have anything in mind (like using the computer for a server or in some network), if not just go for a standard HDD
3)If you can go for the gtx 970, then go for it, it will turn your PC into a high end gaming pc, if you can't then go for r9 380, it outperforms the GTX 960 and has the same pricetag
4)If you consider option 3, go for a different PSU.

First of all: YES! All your parts are compatible.

My opinion on your build: Not a budget system! xD
This system is very capable of running games on high settings and will last quite a while before it may need upgrading. The GTX960 is a great card as you can buy 1 960 and then later on just add another 960 for some big performance boosts.
Your CPU is very good and will be great on any game.

One thing I will say is that a NAS hard drive is not a great idea. NAS hard drives run a little bit slower than a traditional desktop hard drive as they are designed to be able to work when the are on 24/7. I would probably swap it out for either a Seagate barracuda or an SSHD so your operating system will load a bit quicker.
Apart from that you build is very good and should last you quite a while!

Any more questions fell free to send me a private message and I'll be willing to help!

the shipping is so stupid, if i want a $50 case from amazon, the shipping is $80. i didnt realise the hard drive was for networking, ill change that, and ill look at the 380

since u wont be overclocking the stock cooler is more than enough so save the 30 bucks on the cooler.. and then rather than getting the 960 get a 380 which performs better than the 960 for the same price... and get 4gb card cuz games does require more vram to max out... and get a psu which is 650w or 600w if ur getting the 380

Generally a good tip for designing a build for gaming purposes: If you are spending more on your CPU than your GPU, you're doing it wrong. Go for an i5-4460 CPU as it's still great, just cheaper than the 4590.

Simple ways to trim some money off your build:
Lose the cooler - You're not overclocking so the stock cooler is more than suitable for the job. EDIT: This was mentioned above, apologies.
Also, unless you are doing video editing or have a hella lot of games, you don't need a 3tb HDD.
Can you not get any cheaper motherboards in Australia? That MSI board is a gaming edition - "Gaming editions" are renowned for costing extra just for some "bells and whistles" that you don't need/won't use.

If you manage to save enough from what I've said, buy a GTX 970 instead of the 960. That card will seriously bump up your performance a lot.

Hope this helped
