Changing Drive letter while booting, parameter incorrect

Hello,

I am going to start with my layout:
Local Disk C: SSD, no problems, leaving it as is.
Data Disk D: 1Tb drive that I want to exchange for RAID of two 2Tb drives in RAID 1.
Data Disk W: 2Tb RAID 1 array that I have already cloned "Data Disk D" to.
Sorry if this was a bit confusing

A little more background information. My ssd is only 128Tb and I therefore have a large percent of programs on my Data Disk D, including boot programs. I am pretty sure everything was cloned correctly as the size (not size on disk) when going into properties is identical on the new drive..

Now my main issue: When I want to switch the drive letter of "Data Disk D" to something else so that I could later on change the letter of the raid array back to letter "D" for all programs to continue working like they used to. When I do that, there is an error of" access denied, parameter incorrect. I believe the best time to change the drive letter would be when the computer is not in use, such as in boot, again due to the large amount of programs connected.

Could you recommend me a method for solving this?
- Would I need a specific program?
- Should I do this in safe mode or something like that?
- Is there any way to do this while in the booting process?

I apologize for the long thread, but I hope it gave enough information to those who want to help out.

Thank you!
