Yeah, the mal-ware probably helped overheat the cpu, 60c is when thermal throttling kicks in to save the cpu from cooking itself to death.

How are the temps with the v10?
I love the v6 but they stopped making it. The v10 is a beast!

Sorry ues ofcourse. I was wondering how much I can overclock as I am having trouble with gta v when I was able to run it fine with my older computer. I've not long upgrading and tbh it was a bit of a task to set up the mobo. I am getting high temp and have 8 fans in total so not sure what is going on but I fear I am bottleneck in somewhere. There is a file I have made before for gta v to unlock the memory from my system but it is not working this time and I think it is down to having a 4gb gpu and not a 2gb. I was wondering if the voltages and frequencies are correct for stock and what I can overclock to. I will be upgrading the cooling but I know my current system should be more then enough

I've done far to many things to make it run smoother so if anyone has any ideas then shout them out and I will let you know if I have already been down that path. Any help would be fantastic.

What graphics settins are you running at and what resolution?
GTA V is a very CPU intensive game and the AMD Chips don't really perform to well on it, I myself have an 8350 also and I play on the lowest settings with a AMD 7950 which would be very close to your card. On GTA online i get roughly 60-70 fps on low with a few settings like water quality and shadows bumped up. Also make sure you turn off all the advanced graphics settings as they are for really high end systems.

I have tried both lowest and highest settings and still getting low fps or stuttering. My old pc would run this nearly maxed out at 60fps. Why is my new pc having trouble with it when it is like 6 upgrades or more up from my old one

Your advice has helped altho still seeing details being loaded which I never saw before even with max distance draw density. But 20 mins in I got major stuttering. And both my cpu and gpu temp was at 60°c the moment stuttering started

Effects similar to a sparkler if you OC it it too much.
The sparkly effect comes from the VRMs.
I watched a livestreamed event where MSI + AMD was popping vrms all over the place.
I would not attempt to OC an AMD chip on any MSI motherboard.
Prior to viewing that event, I also had my own personal experience.
1 of 2 motherboards I just threw in the trash.A friend of mine said he did the same..lol

I have a phenom II 965 be oc'd to 4ghz and gtx760 gpu and run the game on high settings and never dips below 40 fps usually 50-60fps, something is very wrong.
make sure your mobo doesnt need a bios update to run that cpu.

I did a bios update when I was under the impression I had speed issues. But this didn't resolve the issue at all. First bios update I have ever had to do and will probs be the last lol

Turns out I had a bit of an issue with a mallard virus or few lol they are deleted ad I ran gta v on my current settings and I'm getting a real steady 60fps on v-sync. How much can I overclock and what would be best to overclock first. I have a real good after market fan that has dropped my cpu temp from 80+°c all the way down to 35°c . So that clearly made a difference already. Just need to know how much I should and can overclock and the best way to go about it

you will have to download hwmonitor and monitor your cpu and socket temps, your cpu can go to 60c, and cpu socket to 70c, which will happen quickly when overclocking, google "how to overlock phenom" and find a guide, cause one person overclock wont mean your cpu can reach that overclock.
like me, i have a 8350, i can only get it 4.4ghz before my motherboard cpu socket reaches 70c, doesnt matter what i due to try and cool it down.. I need a better motherboard, i believe you will to if you want to reach higher then 4.3-4.4ghz
