Hi, I just bought an ASUS X555LA laptop with 1TB HDD. I knew that many HDD are partitioned as C:/ and D:/. D:/ usually for Recovery or similar, and are usually way smaller..My old HP is 500GB with 438 on C:/ and only 25GB for D:/ Recovery.... When I got home I noticed that only 371GB is on C:/ and 558 on D:/. I want to make C:/ bigger. and leave D:/ as backup or whatever. I don't have anything on D:/ yet so if I'm going to do this I'd want to do it now to avoid losing anything I might store there. What is the safest and simplest way to do this. I am running Windows 10. Before I do this what are the pros and cons..I don't really know much about using two partitions as I have now. Thank you in advance

If you have nothing on D: , you should be able to go into Storage Manager and use the SHRINK function (except you will be doing the opposite).

1. Open Storage Manager. The D: partition should follow C: and label as SIMPLE PARTITION, not recovery.
2. Highlight D: and Delete Partition.
3. Highlight C: and SHRINK, giving it an new desired size.
4. If there are still space leftover (unallocated) can use that to create a new D: if you wish.

This stuff is kinda dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. We can only give you an overview. Not responsible for any damage.

the correct term is "shrink" but you change 375GB to 750GB or whatever... And he said nothing installed (not an empty partition) no games ect. Win only...... NOTE: NEW LAPTOP MAY HAVE HIDDEN FILES ON THE "APPARENTLY" EMPTY PARTITION!! USE CAUTION WHEN DELETION THIS!!
