New GPU shows no display, but old GPU works fine. Broken?

I recently tried my hand in buying a used Asus GTX 980 Strix for a great deal.
After installing it, it seems to work fine. But after starting up a game, the GPU fan starts spinning rapidly and then the GPU crashes, showing a black screen before I even get INTO the game itself.
To make matters worse the GTX 980 doesn't even show a display now even when I turn the computer on.

My old MSI GTX 760 graphics card still works completely fine though and I have the Corsair TX650M, so I don't think it's a power supply issue. Though I could be wrong.

So what do you guys think? Is it broken or some other factor?
The people I got it from are called BLINQ just in case anyone else had any bad experiences or know if they're reliable or not.

CPU: Intel i5-4670k
GPU: Asus GTX 980 Strix
PSU: Corsair TX650M
RAM: Corsair 16gb(8gb x 2) DDR3 Vengeance

I'll try and get the model of my motherboard later, I know it's an Asus motherboard though.

Sadly I do not have another computer to try the new GPU on.

I don't think I can get a new one from Asus though. Since there is a sticker that is placed onto one of the screws on the GPU that would void your warranty if it was damaged or removed and they took it apart when cleaning it I guess.

I CAN return the product though. They allow returns.

I decided that I'm just gonna return it and it's probably just a bad card. Probably something happened while they were messing with it.

Thanks anyway though.

I just bought an R9-390 asus strix from BLINQ last week and it wont even show up as plugged in to my computer. The 7950 fires right up when I put it back in. The description on Amazon said (open box) Like-new. It was shipped coast to coast and the packing with plastic air pockets seems to offer little cushioning. It has a huge green Inspected sticker on it so perhaps it was damaged during shipping. Or the "inspection guy" sucks. I'm kinda torn between a refund and an RMA to asus for a new one.
