From the Control Panel, click on the System icon.

At the bottom of this window you should see an option on the bottom right to Change Product Key. Click this and enter you new key and it should activate.

Hopefully not too late. I would not trust a previous pirated win installation. And by only putting a valid key you risk your key sent to a wrong place(trojan or backdoor)
I would fresh install win and use a genuine key.
