Ok so I'm searching for a graphic card for under £200 and I'm stuck between the GTX 960 SSC 2gb and the MSI R9 380 4gb, the R9 seems to be better performance wise though a few things worry me, people say AMD's drivers are terrible and cause a lot of issues, I have an i3 6300 (people have said that the 960 is a good card to pair with i3's), has anyone got any thoughts on these cards or suggestions about other cards?

I would say far from terrible, I've used an R9 290 and a GTX 970 on Windows 10. Like, Nvidia probably has some benefits but overall the drivers are not as good as pre-Windows 10 for Nvidia either. Globally there are issues of slightly worse performance in a lot of games with Nvidia on Win 10. Not taking away that the GTX 960 would be the GPU I'd prefer for Shadowplay and for example adaptive V-sync.

I would go for the gtx 960 because you will get very similar framerates to the r9 380 and have the benefits of nvidia software but i would take a look for 2nd hand gpus, I picked up a gtx 970 for €200(cheaper than 960 or r9 380)

The GTX 960 4GB will last longer, has fewer RMA's, has higher customer satisfaction - read reviews.

AMD has put a bunch of videos with different settings for 960 and 380 to look better on YouTube.
How bad do their cards have to be that they would resort to that?

R9 380s have coil wine and loud fans and suck a lot of electricity and brake easy and go to blue screen. You don't want any of that.

Owners of GTX 960 Ti 4GB are satisfied customers.
