so i recently bought a new gpu cpu and mobo i5 4690k gigabyte gtx 960 4gb and a msi Z97. i have a old rig that i currently have but its starting to get old and i just dont want to deal with it. but i dont have the money for new ram new power supply ect so can i use the ram and the 1 tb hard drive for the new build while replacing the old mobo gpu and cpu for the new one with the same case. i know i will have to reformat the hard drive i think xD.. also if i install windows on a flashdrive i can for sure install windows from the bios right? this is my first ever build and i am a noob so give me a break ahah.

these are the specs for the current pc

CPU: Intel Core i7 930
GPU: GTX 570
MOBO: MSI Bing Bang-XPower (MS-7666)
RAM: Corsair vengeance ddr3 12gb
PSU: Coolmaster 1000 something wat
OS: Windows 7 ultimate

Solution
You have an older triple generation triple channel RAM kit . Probably its rated for 1.65 volts .
This is usable in your new computer but not ideal since it should run 1.5 volt RAM .
Ideally just use TWO of the three sticks . Its likely to be faster like that since adding the third stick will mean you run in single channel and not dual channel

The hard drive should be fine . You will have to install windows from scratch and depending on your license you might have to pay again to activate it with MS

It is easier with a windows disk . But either way you go to BIOS . Set the boot drive to be the DVD or USB with windows on it . Then you restart using the power button with the dvd in the drive and when it restarts windows will start to load
