(sorry if this is in the wrong section)
I've used the same computer for 3 years and haven't had any problems.
Yesterday I tried to start up the computer and noticed that my BIOS screen was taking a lot longer than usual, about 1 minute compared to the usual 2 seconds. And when I get to the windows screen the computer just shuts off what its doing (but the computer is still on).
On the lucky chance that I do get to the log-in screen, I can't do anything for another minute (mouse doesn't move).
I'm at a loss at what is happening here and what I should be looking for to resolve this?
Other notes:
-I did a system restore to last week, and the problem still persists
-My OS is on a SSD and I also have a HD
-I can still play intensive games
-My CPU temp is within normal range (35 C)
-On the first try after I boot up the computer my computer updates itself on the Windows screen. It freezes at the end, so I have to restart again. When I restart, it tries to repair but it doesn't work.
-I should also note this, but yesterday after I successfully got the computer to work, I made a rush to back up my files from the SSD to the HD. at about 90% of the way through I noticed my HD clicking, which is bad news - do you think this is the culprit, even though my OS is not installed there? It's just storage after all.
Can you guys suggest what could be the issue?
Thanks,
Josh
