I tried downloading on another computer and installing with a memory stick but won't work
Please provide more details as to what actually happens when you try to install driver from a USB stick.
Simply saying it "won't work" is not very helpful.

"this is the message i get:
a wireless network adaptor is not installed or software for the wireless adaptor is not installed"
That simply means you need to install it's driver, we already know that.
What I want to know is what happens when you try to install the driver from a pen drive.

Simply plug your laptop to the router using LAN cable and Your laptop will install wireless driver itself.
You can always search for rthe driver onto manufactures website(support) downlaod it and copy it to USP drive and install onto laptop.
