I am getting a sff optiplex 790 for $45 with an i5 2500 and I would like to put it in a new case does anyone know how I would go about this as the motherboard has a weird orientation

if there isn't a way I could fit it into a standard atx (I cannot find the dimensions of the MB so I don't know if a micro atx would work) and put it in sideways feeding the cords through the IO and pick up a pci-e extension for the gpu.
Unless anyone knows if it will fit into any case (it says it is micro atx but it is horizontal instead of vertical) I don't need a IO shield obviously as it is not necessary. Please help out I cannot get a lga 1155 motherboard as they are rare in my country (unless brand new) and expensive.

Dell motherboard swaps are tricky even within Dells. They use proprietary cables and sockets, and change the pinouts between different models. The cases and motherboards are kind of mated together due to this. I would suggest upgrading it as a Dell.See what the maximum CPU is, memory capacity, The best GPU will probably be GTX750Ti which comes in low profile and doesn't need a PCIe power cable. The PSU will be a limiting factor due to not having that cable, but power should be OK. Some of these SFF/USFF motherboards use a smaller 24 pin power connector. There are adapters, but pinout might be different there between HP ,and Dell versions. This can be fixed. Athena makes bigger PSUs in SFF form. Dell computers with more powerful CPUs...

Dell computers with more powerful CPUs would have better coolers installed. If you do some research in these areas you might be able to do what you want that way.
