Just like the title, will the Samsung 950 m.2 be compatible with this specific mobo (gigabyte DH3 Z97). This specific mobo does have M.2, AND I DO WANT TO MAKE THIS MY BOOT/PARTITION DRIVE.

I've done some google searches and can't seem to find a definite answer. I believe I do need to download the bios that allows my mobo to utilize nvme, how ever I can't seem to find the bios. Already checked Gigabyte's website for the bios I need which is F8f (http://www.gigabyte.com/press-center/news-page.aspx?nid=1358), but can not seem to locate it at the bios download page (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5103#bios).

Am I pretty much out of luck? I already know I can not use intel's 750 pcie 3.0x4 ssd to its full potential, or m.3 because I am pretty much using my pcie 3.0x 16 for my gpu, and just do not have M.3.

I do have a M.2 on my mobo, and by having that I am assuming the ssd should work on my mobo right without hindering any performance? or would I also need to have a pci 3.0x4 slot and a m.2 to get maximum performance

Yes, it's compatible but as you already mentioned you will not get the max performance because your GPU is using your only gen 3.0 pcie slot. And here is the link to the latest bios: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4961#bios
