Hey guys, I have a simple question and I think someone will be able to answer it. My laptop (it's pretty old) had about 1.6 gb of ram (ouch). I had a problem to do with starting the computer up and it taking FOREVER so I asked my IT teacher. He said he thought that one of the RAM ports were not working, and I just had to take the ram stick out of that port. sure enough, it fixed my problem. But now for some reason I am left with 1 gb of ram, and only like 730 mb usable. I'm wondering, am I able to buy and replace RAM ports. (By RAM ports, I mean the slot you put the ram into)
my cpu is a compaq presario CQ56.
also, if I can't replace RAM ports, is there a way I can get more RAM anyways. Like can I get a better stick or something?
