I'm trying to connect my laptop to the internet in my mom's house, but whenever I do, it either connects, but times out when I try to open any pages on browsers and tells me the connection isn't getting anything or it's just listed as limited unless I wire it by Ethernet where it works fine. I tried using my hotspot from my phone and it connected just fine so I think it's an issue with the router/modem or ISP. The ISP is Comcast Xfinity and the router/modem is a Wireless Gateway shown in the following link,

http://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/comcast-supported-routers-gateways-adapters/

The laptop in question is a Samsung Ativ Book 8(NP880Z5E-X01UB) listed as follows and comes with Windows 8.1,

http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/pcs/NP880Z5E-X01UB-specs

I've tried calling both Comcast AND Samaung and neither has given me a permanent fix. Comcast has done some resets to the signal which did give me Internet, but only for a few seconds to a minute or two before fading out and I should also mention that my lapto is the only one with this issue. Consoles, smartphones, and the other laptop in the house can all use wifi just fine, only mine is not working. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Solution
Some laptops do not work well with some routers.

I would look for an updated driver to the wifi in the laptop. Also, reboot the modem and router.

The other option is to get a USB wifi adapter as they are a little more reliable in my experience than the built in wifi. I am using the Trendnet AC600 which is under $20.

How would I be able to test for this since this is the first time having this problem as this was never and issue before(can't remember if they had this Gateway back then). The driver is already up to date so unless I switch drivers I don't think that may be an option(don't know if I can switch drivers for this) and I've already rebooted the Modem and Router as they're both basically combined into one.

Already found a fix via router and selected your previous post as best answer. Thanks for the suggestion by the way.
