is this motherboard capable of overclocking?? if not, i have a question

Should i:
a. Upgrade only the motherboard to overclock my cpu
b. Upgrade both motherboard and cpu (for newer cpu)

My spec:
i5 2500K stock
GTX 970 @stock
16GB ram (idk why this runs only at 1333mhz i have kingston hyper x fury 8x2)
GA-H77M-D3H

Thanks in advance..

Yes it does support moderate overclocking, both for RAM and CPU. You need better than stock CPU cooling for effective overclock. Also good case ventilation for RAM overclock. It should run RAM at XMP speeds no problem. It supports up to 2200mhz RAM overclock.. Go into the BIOS and use the RAMs built in XMP profile and it should run at advertised speed. Use the advanced mode BIOS.
I have a GA-Z77X-UD3H and it's great for both. It even overclocks non-K (my I5 3550).
