Hi, guys!

So, I am using an old P35c-DS3R board for the past 7 years. I love this board, since it practically adapted well along the way. I am on my second processor, third GPU and third Ram config (been upgrading along the ages). My actual system config is:

- Q9550 (2.83Ghz Intel Quad)
- 2 4GB DDr3 1333Mhz Kingston (cheap type, cas 9)
- R9 270X
- 4 7200rpm HDD (1 for system, 2 for data and 1 for games)
- Blu-Ray burner (Samsung)
- Real 420 Watt PSU (Cooler master)

The system is very stable and I play any game I want up to this point (thus it is kinda struggling on ultra settings in games like Dead Rising 3, due to ram).

I happened to come across two sticks of Kingston Hyper Fury X HX316C10F/4, and tried using it on my system, to no avail. The system won't even boot. It turns on, but nothing happens.

I looked online and people claim to be using 8GB 1600Mhz FSB Ram sticks on this board, but they are all C9 (mine is C10). Could that be the problem? When I put my older sticks on it, it turns on normally, like nothing happened.

I tried clearing cmos, using one 1600mhz stick, two sticks, no sticks, nothing... :(

Thanks in advance.

This is an older 775 mobo which among other things doesn't support PnP, which the Fury are based on. Also for 775 you need DRAM with low density memory ICs like those used in the NT series of value DRAM from GSkill, todays DDR3 is made with high density memory ICs which aren't compatible with the older 775 mobos. Your mobo supports up to 2 sticks of DDR3 (2GB per stick) and up to 1066

You've stated that you've been upgrading along the way so have you also upgraded your OS from 7 to 10? If so then revert back to 7, install the new ram and then reinstall Windows 10. I'd also ask you to invest some time and money in that PSU since that is borderline good in terms of wattage, I can't tell which model of Coolermaster PSU's so I can't say about it's quality. If you're not working with Windows 10, are you able to get into BIOS to look at your DRAM timings/settings?

The bottleneck in your system is the platform itself. Eventually you will grow out of it though adding ram to your system will not improve it any further unless you're overclocking the system which will lead us to ask, is your cooling in your system capable of cooling an overclocked CPU+that the case can cool itself efficiently?

@Lutfij

I am running Windows 10, but I think it is not the issue (not at this moment), because the Mobo won't even start and present the POST screen. :(

About the SETUP: I can only get to it with the old DDR3 sticks I have. When I plug the new ones, the system, as said previously, won't boot. With the old config, I am able to set the timings for my ram sticks. Is there a way to carry them over and automatically assume them when I plug the new Ram sticks?

About system config: I know its old. It´s just that I grew attached to it! :p I am planning on building a new one by the end of the year.

I have the same motherboard and bought same kingston 2x4 GB Hyprx memory - it doesn't work. System won't boot.
It's not a true that this motherboard doesn't support 2x4 GB dd3 though.
I have just bought 2x4 GB 1333 samsung memory (2 sided memory) and it works perfectly at 1333 :)
