Hello, I've been thinking of upgrading the ram of my two year old PC. I have 2GB installed on the other slot while the other one is empty. Windows only allow me to use 1.5GB, that's pretty low, right?
I'm unable to online since I'm not from the states and I live in a third world country so I can't look up at crucial.com or any other online stores.

Here's the cpu-z screenshot of my PC's specs http://imgur.com/a/nERst
Here are my questions: What speed should I need? Do I really need the same brand?(It's samsung, I think) What things should I ask to the store?

I deeply apologize if this is a repetitive question here, I just want to ask this for myself since it's my own PC.

You have very low speed ram, especially with an AMD APU it heavily influences performance. I would lose the 2gb ram altogether and buy 2 sticks of 4gb each, voltage 1.5 with a speed of 1866 mhz and a cas latency (CL) of no more than 10. Your motherboard supports up to 1866 mhz so this is the highest you can go. If that ram is unavailable the next step would be 1600 mhz (1600 mhz, 2x4gb 1.5V CL 9).

I would opt for 8gb since this is the minimum amount on which windows will run smoothly. With 4gb you will get more pagefile writes, so you have to wait for the harddrive to read/write. 6gb is also ok but then your ram won't run in dual channel.

I want to but I'm very short on budget because it goes to my college, I can only afford a 2GB stick right now. Do you think there would be a noticeable change if I only get another 1333MHz DDR3 stick?
