So I finally got the money to build my first ever Gaming PC. I've been a gamer for almost 10 years but have been on various machines. I got 1200Euros in my availability. I thought about getting a Skylake i7 6700K matched with a 960 and then upgrade the vga but some friend of mine suggested me to get a i5 6600K with a 970( Or 980 and put on some more - cut off from others) and then upgrade my CPU. What should I do? I'm excperienced in hardware related stuff but this decision...

For gaming...
No question in my mind.
A 6600K is equally strong as the 6700K in gaming, and the GTX970 is considerably stronger than the GTX960.
Few games can use more than 2-3 cores, so the hyperthreads of a i7-6700K will go largely unused.
The i5-6600K with a fair overclock is today as good as it gets for gaming.
And, with 14nm construction, skylake runs cool.
You do not need exotic cooling to get a decent overclock.
Here is what you can expect as to What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v
I5-6600K
4.9 3%
4.8 38%
4.7 70%
4.6 85%

If you will be gaming at 1080P, a GTX970 is considered as good for most games.
You can consider stronger if you might be using a 1440P monitor or greater.

Post a prospective build for more detailed evaluation.

Reasonable.
I think you might find a Z170 motherboard for less.
Look at M-ATX format also, they tend to be less expensive.

FWIW.
I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, you may never need a hard drive.

I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice.
Intel 730 is OK too.
