So I build a pc with a r9 390 and an fx 6300.

Recently I wanted to start recording gameplay and editing and making some videos

I started with fraps, and while recording the same games I can max out at 1080p 60fps, the god of the recording were ridiculously low, from 5fps to 25fps

So I tryes out dxtory, same thing

So I did some research and turnes out this is normal when you record on the same hard drive as the game

Question number 1) does that mean the recording software has to be on a different drive, or where the videos are saved to?

Question number 2) would a usb stick or an sd card do the same thing as an extra hard drive?

Also at 1080p 60fps, how long would it take to fill up an 8gb or 16gb usb or as card?

Thanks a lot

I'll take any extra advice

Solution
1) The recording on a different drive. The problem is you end up with the game trying to use the HDD loading and such and your recording trying write as much as it can at the same time and it ends up thrashing or just not being fast enough.

2)Yes but I'm guessing it would have to be USB 3.0 or UHS II in order to be fast enough. Space would likely depend on your exact settings.
