I have a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AM3+ Socket. I am quickly turning into a semi-heavy gamer. DayZ, Arma 3, BF4, Black Ops 3, and so on. I just wanted to upgrade my CPU to a more gaming heavy CPU. However I saw the 8730 as the highest available CPU for my motherboard. Does anyone know if this CPU is good enough for heavier gaming or should I consider another motherboard?

Solution
there are certain games where the fx does good and some games where it performs very bad, any game that doesn't use 4 or more cores doesn't run well on an FX cpu generally. the I5 will generally perform well in all games because of its fewer but stronger cores.
The cheapest upgrade that would be worth it would be an i5 4460 and budget motherboard for a total of around 250$

The FX series is pretty much a dead platform, id reccomend getting an i5 4XXX with an LGA 1150 Motherboard or i5 6XXX with a lga 1151 Motherboard
this would cost alot and if you dont have ht money then the best route would be an fx 8320, whats your current CPU and GPU
