Windows 7 freeze when downloading

My computer freezes sometimes randomly, but it's guaranteed that it will freeze when I am downloading something from steam. It will freeze for around a minute but I can be within that.

But the interesting part is that sometimes after a freeze a message will come up saying my Nvidia driver stopped working, leading me to think it's something to do with that even though all my drivers are up to date. Anyone else experience this?

make sure all of your drivers are up to date and do a system clean to clean it of viruses, malware and just corrupt files and junk.

In my experience Windows 7 (although a good OS) has it's fair share of problems from time to time. make sure you're system isn't full of dust and that your components aren't overheating. Overheated components can cause freezes and crashes in Windows quite easily. other than that I would say that it's just windows being a bitch.
