I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU but I need to decide what to upgrade to. My goal is to be able to play Skyrim, GTA V, and Fallout 4 without any problems.

Here are my specs:
CPU: AMD A10-6800k
GPU: Zotac GTX 950 AMP Edition
PSU: Antec VP-450
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport

And also some type of cheap MSI FM2+ motherboard. I'm willing to buy a new motherboard.

I don't have a specific budget, but I would like to keep it under 350 dollars if possible.

Your CPU is still a decent one, combined with a good overclock and a better GPU you should be able to play any of those games on med to high quality. Depending on the motherboard you might only need to but a GPU, a stronger PSU and a better cooler for a heavy overclock.

Yea, I've overclocked this APU to 4.6 GHz, I was just thinking about upgrading because I have yet to get GTA or Fallout and I wasn't sure if this APU could handle it. I have a Cooler Master TX3 and my temps are pretty decent. It handles Skyrim fine, so if this APU will be fine for the other two, I'll be okay with sticking with it. As for the GPU, I'm just planning to get a 970 or something in the future... Thanks for the info!

There really is no upgrade path from what you have now with the FM2+ platform. You are at the top of the food chain, so to speak. But the APU can handle a faster gfx card. The GTX 960 or R9-380 would be about the top of the line for a gfx card that wouldn't be bottlenecked by the CPU. The GTX 970 will be fine, but don't expect to get max performance from the card.
