Is my overclock safe (stock cooler, FX-6300@4GHz)

I am new to overclocking, but I have done quite a bit of research myself.
I just got my FX-6300 and overclocked it to 4GHz (from 3.5GHz), increased voltage from 1.25 to 1.3 and disabled turbo boost.
My CPU's maximum temp is 65°C, as stated by many forums
Since I increased the voltage, my CPU is stable with Prime95 Small FFT test (I tested it for about an hour)
Running Prime95 Small FFTs, my CPU's maximum temp is 63°C and it usually stays at 62°C.
Since my CPU is not going to be on full load anyways, is the overclock safe (apart from it sounding like a truck under load)?
Thank you!

Download & use amd overdrive & watch the thermal margin under that prime load - as long as it stays above 5c or so then yes its safe
What board are you using ?? That's fairly low voltage on a 4ghz clock which would explain why you're temps still look safe.

$20 on a cooler will go a long way to saving your ears & your sanity though - I could not personally stand a stock amd fan at full pelt.

Hey, best thing to stop that truck is to get a better CPU cooler. I recommend the Cooler Master Hyper212X Universal CPU cooler, it will serve you for what you need! Hope I helped...

:D

All is good if it doesn't smoke like a diesel truck! But indeed, getting some low dBA fans (fractal silent series and 212evo being my favorites) is a good idea

If it does not exceed 70 degrees C, then it is fine. Use AMD Overdrive to monitor your thermal margin. I personally use OCCT to stress test. I use large data sets for the stress test and I think u should use a large data set too. Small FFTs is mostly just for maximum temp. It will probably never hit that temp through daily use, gaming, video editing etc. If u put a heater next to it then maybe.
