Hello! I built my computer two years ago.
Cpu: i5 3570k (Done failed OC Attempts)
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V LX
I cannot turn off my computer the regular way. I have to hold down the powerbutton. If i do it by pressing turnoff computer it will just go into some weird mode where its still on but dosent work and it sounds and the led is still active.
The whole computer crashes one or two times a day. (I use it a lot)
And everynow and then theres a small stutter that makes the computer freeze for a second.
About 5 months ago i upgraded to a new SSD and its still the same. And also i cant play games as well anymore. it works fine for a while then it starts to lag a lot.

Hello Skyezz5, have you run full virus/malware scans at all? Could you also try the following steps to see whether they help at all:

1. Press "Windows + R" at the same time
2. Enter "control wuaucpl.cpl" (without speech marks) followed by enter
3. Windows Update should open
4. Select "Scan for Updates"
5. Install all updates including optional ones

6. Restart your PC into the normal desktop

7. Restart your PC into Safe Mode

8. Press "Windows + X" at the same time
9. Select “Command Prompt (Admin)”
10. Accept any User Account Control popup for “Windows Command Processor”
11. Enter "sfc /scannow" (without the speech marks) into Command Prompt followed by enter
12. Let the scan complete fully

Well. There were no updates what so ever. (I usually keep it up to date)
Btw im on Windows 10 - 64bit. Thought that was worth mentioning. And also before writing i ran a full system scan and Registry with Avast!
The Scan thingy ended up saying "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

Ah right, thank you for that. The scan you took would suggest that it is not an OS issue but rather a hardware issue. How do you normally turn off the PC? I mean do you select 'Shut Down' from the start menu or just press the power button once?

I hold down the powerbutton untill it forces the computer to turn off. (ive done this for a very long time)
Otherwise it will go into this mode i explained earlier. Where the comuter is sorta still running but the screen is black and the computer is in some kind of standbymode i guess?

Right, I think I understand now. Can you please follow these steps to see whether it helps:

1. Press Windows + X
2. Select Command Prompt (Admin)
3. Enter "shutdown -s" (without speech marks) followed by enter

Your PC should then shutdown after 20 seconds, let me know what it does.

Right, that command should shut your PC down but obviously it doesn't want to. Can you try these steps for me please:

1. Press Windows + X
2. Select Command Prompt (Admin)
3. Enter "powercfg -requests" (without speech marks) followed by enter

You should see all sections reporting 'none', it it doesn't can you please tell me what each section reports.

It's no problem, helping is what I do. Can you try entering this command into command prompt for me: shutdown -f -s -t 0

Haha, perhaps it likes the attention? It seems like it's a BIOS issue now, do you have any experience at all within the BIOS?

Well first theres a boot tab wheres theres a lot about booting.
And on Advanced tab i found something called "APM" which mentions:
Deep S4
Restore AC Power Loss
Power On By PCIE/PCI
Power On By Ring
Power On By RTC

And thats about it
