I wanted to buy a new pc and after that place a eSATA hard disc in it so I could keep my stuff but it only has a SATA port. Can I place my eSATA on a SATA connection? Or can I maybe place a eSATA hard disc on a SATA lll port?
There is no such thing as an eSata HD. e=stands for External, meaning the said HD is in an enclosure, and when you open that enclosure, there is a plain SATA drive inside, which you can retrieve and use like any HD. Clear?
When you say you have an eSATA HDD I assume you're referring to a SATA HDD that's enclosed in an enclosure that contains a eSATA port (and possibly USB connectivity). There's really no such component as an eSATA HDD per se. If what I assume is correct can't you merely remove the HDD from the enclosure and then install that disk as a "normal" SATA HDD in your new PC? Or is the problem that the enclosure is a sealed unit?
