I'm thinking of building a PC around May, June. Is this a good time to buy parts in terms of prices? If not, when are prices at their lowest?

Prices are lowest when a newer architecture comes out- AMD are releasing new gpus and cpus and NVIDIA new gpus sometime this year, so the older ones drop in price as the sellers try to sell them quickly to get rid of stocks. You will get some really good bargains at that time, but the official dates are not confirmed. Hope I could help :)

Black Friday and pre Christmas sales can save you a lot of money if you're patient. Sign up on websites like Amazon, NewEgg, Microcenter and NCIX and use PCPartpicker, they have price alerts which can send you an email if something on your wishlist goes on sale.

"...to the end of the year"
And around October and later, people will be wondering about the new stuff coming out Spring 2017.
There is ALWAYS something new on the horizon.

Yes, that die shrink is major.
Great...wait. And then wait for the second round, after the bug fixes. Never buy v1.0.

How much you wanna bet we see this exact same question in Oct/Nov/Dec?
