I'm finally upgrading from my six year old computer to modern times. I don't want to "build" or really customize anything. All I care about is a reasonable level of performance for current games. I'm a fan of total war games and am looking for something to run Attila Total War and the upcoming Warhammer Total War with no problems. I know the total war games are know for cpu bottleneck issues, so I want something that won't be affected by that.

So without further ado, here's the pc I'm considering:

Can anyone give me some feedback on this? Any information would be helpful. I don't want to spend over $1,500 total, and I have a fairly new Geforce GTX 970 I plan on using in this new computer should I buy it.

Thanks.

it's not a bad pc but is overpriced for the parts but you already know this. it has an r9-380 in it so the power supply will already be good enough for your 970 since they are similar power needs.

the i7 and 16 gb ram is plenty for any gaming rig so that is good enough as well. have you looked at cyberpowerpc.com to see what you can do there straight from there? knowing you have the 970 to go in it, you can save some cash and not get a gpu just a solid psu to run the card. you will probably get a bit more for the money this way.

here is almost the same build minus the gpu and a nice quality psu ready for the 970. saves you about $150 over the best buy one and it comes with a ton of freebies like headset, mouse, keyboard, usb wifi...

you can save even more by dropping to an i5-6600k and 8gb of ram which is plenty for a gaming rig right now. this would save another $100 or so.

you're welcome :D

edit: here is the ame build with the i5 and 8 gb ram for price compare. http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1HPB2M
