This is the sign of a dying HDD. You need to save your files to another location/device and replace the HDD.

What make/model is your HDD? With that information, you can go the HDD's manufacturer site and download their diagnostic program to confirm the health (or lack thereof) your HDD.

Good luck!

Hi there nostiyanda,

I would agree with the other guys and say that this is HDD related and unfortunately, your HDD is most probably dying.

I believe it would be a good idea to use different cables(SATA and power ones) and attach the drive to a different port.
In case it gets recognized again, you will need to back up the data stored on the drive as soon as possible.

You can check if the drive is recognized by BIOS and test it with some HDD testing tool for DOS mode. Yet, keep in mind that clicking sounds could indicate a mechanical failure and you may not be able to do that.(the tool will not pick up the drive)

If the drive is under warranty, you can just RMA it.
