Hello,
I have a weird situation where my pc is on a shelf which is a considerable distance away from my workstation. I would like to have a Usb Powered audio recording/playback interface(Lexicon Lambda) on the desktop of my workstation without the cord laying all about.. I already have 3 25' Ethernet runs through the attic with rj45 wall jacks on both ends going from the pc to the monitor. Unfortunately, from the information that I have gathered as well as the little knowledge that i have on the matter, if I were to just run the signal through Ethernet/usb adapters the power would not be transferred to my device and it would not work. I guess what i need to know is would an Ethernet/Usb adapter be able to power the device, or would a (poe) switch be something that may be an option?
If there is anybody with any suggestions please share.
I'm sure i was not descriptive enough with what i am working with as i am pretty new to this sort of thing. If any additional information is needed to better answer the I will be happy to dig up what ever it is that you may need. Thanks in advance!

Solution
You can likely use a powered hub to connect the wall jack and your remote device. The signals still are not as protected as ethernet so they do not go as far. 25ft should be possible though but what you are doing is very non standard so it gets hard to predict if it will work.

Thank you very much i will definitely look into that option, as it seems to be a cost efficient way to go. I appreciate the prompt response.
