I am running dual EVGA 970 SC ACX2.0 cards under SLI. While this seems to work fine, there is a very noticable crackling sound that comes from the second GPU when under heavy GPU load. Here's a video of the system running Unigine Valley.

Here is my current setup:
6600k CPU
ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming
GSkill Ripjaws V 16GB
2 X EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX2.0 in SLI
Seasonic SS 1050XM

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
It sounds like something is caught in or on the fan or the fan itself is having an issue.

Could you try turning the system on its side and see if the noise continues?

Ok, I am a genuine idiot.

My first instinct was also that it was something caught in the fan, but I couldn't figure out what that might be.

Well, after removing and reseating the second card, I realized that the serial tag on the second card was sticking off the mainboard. Not enough to reach the fan on the first card, BUT under heavy GPU load, the sticker warped enough to make it to the upper fan.

Thanks for the help. :)
