I was looking for a super-cheap CPU-mobo-RAM for an challenge between me and a few friends. I found 4 viable options:

Q6600
Arctic Freezer Pro Rev.2
Asus P5KPL-CM
4GB DDR2 RAM
Total: £75

Q8300
Intel Stock Cooler
ASUS P5G41-M LE
4GB DDR2 RAM
Total: £55

G4400
Intel Stock Cooler
MSI H110M PRO-VH
8GB DDR4 RAM
Total: £70

A6-6400K
No cooler
MSI A78M-E35
No RAM
CIT Evolution Case
Total: £38

Which combo will provide the best price-performance?

I had thought so too, due to its much newer architecture. It will also provide a good pathway for upgradability.

Brand new, those components would cost around £110-£120, so £70 is a real bargain, don't you think?

Thanks for the quick reply!

well, I'm not a fan of purchasing dual core cpus. Games are coming out these days which can't be played on dual cores anymore. So i think it's mostly a dead platform outside of work

But still that g4400 is so much more chip then everything else you listed it really wasn't a competition.
