overclocking Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H

Solution
The H77 chipset does have an unlocked multiplier. You cannot adjust it. That function is reserved for the Z or P chipsets. Overclocking by raising the multi is the best way to do it now because it ONLY overclocks the cpu and nothing else. Overclocking by raising the fsb overclocks your entire system including memory and all ports. This puts a very hard strain on your motherboard because those parts are not meant to be adjusted in that manner. Intel motherboards do not allow for hardly any overclocking that way. You'll be lucky to boot with a fsb of 105 which would only yield an overclock of 100-200mhz at best. The performance difference would be non-existent. It's totally not worth it.
